ACC Handbook Revisions

Effective Date

ACC approved October 8, 2024. Faculty Senate accepted October 28, 2024.

Background

During summer 2024, changes were made to the ACC Handbook to update and correct the document, which had not been fully reviewed or updated since Fall 2018. Most of the changes were technical in nature or reflect updates to approved policies. Some sections were moved to improve the Handbook’s usability, especially since it now can be accessed as a web-based document.

In addition to these non-policy changes, three slightly more substantive revisions were reviewed and approved by ACC Exec on September 3, 2024. The first was a change to the Proposed Revision to Course Modalities/Instructional Methods policy; the second was a proposed change to the Proposed Temporary Course Policy; and the third was to Study Abroad Course Numbering.

ACC Action

On October 8, 2024, a motion to approve the three policy changes was made by Rebekah Paci-Green and seconded by Elizabeth Raymond. During discussion, Commissioners added clarifying language to the proposed temporary course proposal language to reflect that offerings do not have to be in consecutive terms.

The proposed Handbook changes were approved by a unanimous vote.
