Honoring Senate President Brandon Dupont

Background

Brandon Dupont (CBE-Economics) served as Faculty Senate President beginning in Spring Quarter 2024 and for AY 2024-25. In honor of his service, Senate Vice President/President-Elect Michael Slouber offered a motion to approve the following resolution at the June 3, 2024 Senate meeting:

WHEREAS, Professor Brandon Dupont has served admirably and with integrity, responsibility, and accountability as Western Washington University’s Faculty Senate President during the 2023-2024 academic year; and, 

WHEREAS, Professor Dupont led the Faculty Senate during a time of organizational transition, beginning in the 2023 Spring Term, during which he has worked to stabilize and strengthen the role of the faculty in shared governance across the campus community; and, 

WHEREAS, Professor Dupont has represented the values of Western Washington University through his commitment to student success, critical thought, creativity, and sustainability, his commitment to equity and justice, and respect for the rights and dignity of others, and his dedication to academic freedom and effective engagement; 

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, the Faculty Senate of Western Washington University, at its regular meeting of June 3, 2024, honors and extends its gratitude to Professor Brandon Dupont for his outstanding service as Faculty Senate President. 

The Faculty Senate unanimously approved the motion to approve the resolution by Michael Slouber (seconded by Allison Giffen).
