Honoring Senate President Michael Slouber

On June 2, Senate President Erika McPhee-Shaw introduced a resolution on behalf of Senate Executive Council in honor of AY 2024-2025 Senate President Michael Slouber. The full text follows. 

WHEREAS, Professor Michael Slouber has served admirably as Western Washington University’s Faculty Senate President during the 2024-2025 academic year; and, 

WHEREAS, Professor Slouber led the Faculty Senate during a time of immense policy and budgetary challenges to higher education, during which he worked to represent and strengthen the role of the faculty in shared governance across the campus community; and,

 WHEREAS, Professor Slouber represented the values of Western Washington University through his steadfast commitment to the pursuit of excellence through the promotion of academic freedom, integrity, responsibility, and accountability across the institution; 

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, the Faculty Senate of Western Washington University, at its regular meeting of June 2, 2025, honors and extends its gratitude to Professor Michael Slouber for his outstanding service as Faculty Senate President.

The Senate unanimously approved the resolution.
