Faculty Senate Budget Representative

In 2023, the Faculty Senate voted to replace its University Planning and Resource Council (UPRC) with two new positions, the Faculty Senate University Budget Representative and the Faculty Senate University Budget Deputy Representative.  

These positions provide advocacy, transparency, and communication on budget-related issues. They represent budget-related faculty perspectives, questions, and concerns to the administration, and report back to the faculty. As non-voting members of the Faculty Senate Executive Council and voting members of the University Budget Committee, each position carries a one-year term. 

The Budget Representative attends meetings of the Faculty Senate Executive Council and the Faculty Senate, providing quarterly budget updates to the Senate. They conduct regular meetings with the Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs and the Provost and work regularly with the chairs of the College Governance Committees. They also maintain this page on the Faculty Senate website to provide updates and information, and a place where faculty can pose questions and offer feedback.

The Budget Deputy Representative supports the work of the University Budget Representative while becoming familiar with the university budget and budget operations before stepping into the University Budget Representative role.
